Newly Gazetted Chairman of University Council Pays Courtesy Call to Kaimosi Friends University Vice-Chancellor

The newly gazetted Chairman of the Kaimosi Friends University Council, Prof. Stanley Khainga, paid a courtesy call to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mwita, on Tuesday, August 12, 2025.

Speaking during the meeting, Prof. Mwita warmly welcomed the new Chairman, noting that the university’s progress is the result of collective effort over time. He noted that being a young university, Kaimosi Friends University continues to focus on strategic growth to strengthen its position in the higher education landscape.

Newly gazetted Chairman of Council Prof. Stanley Khainga paid a courtesy call on Vice-Chancellor Prof. Peter Mwita. The meeting, which focused on collaboration and growth, was also attended by (DVC AFP&D) Prof. Thomas Kipkurgat.

 “We are committed to working hand-in-hand with you, to build on the gains we’ve made so far, thanks to the foundation laid by previous leadership, and under your guidance we will explore new opportunities for our students, staff, and the community at large,” he said.

The discussions, held at the Vice-Chancellor’s office, centered on strengthening governance frameworks, enhancing research capacity, and improving student welfare. Prof. Khainga, a distinguished scholar and surgeon, reaffirmed his readiness to collaborate closely with the management team.

“I am honored to join a university with such a strong track record. My focus will be to work collaboratively with the council, management, and all stakeholders to sustain this momentum, foster research, and drive innovation,” he said.

Beyond governance, the two leaders touched on possibilities for enhancing partnerships with industry, community engagement, and the importance of positioning Kaimosi Friends University as a hub of knowledge for the region. Prof. Khainga noted.

The meeting marks the beginning of what both leaders described as a new chapter of collaboration. As the institution looks to the future, the shared message was clear a renewed commitment to excellence, integrity, and transformative growth.
