Interim officials of the Kaimosi Friends University Alumni Association (KAFUAA) have kicked off a three-day workshop to validate the association’s draft constitution. The initiative is being led by Acting Chair Mr. John Mwangi, alongside other interim members steering the formation process.

The event which was graced by Prof. Julius Kipkemboi, the acting Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academics, Student Affairs, and Research, as well as Dr. Joseph Otsyula, Director of the Directorate of University Linkages, Alumni and Career Services (DULACS).
Prof. Kipkemboi in his address highlighted the importance of the validation process, stating that the final document will serve as a cornerstone for the university’s success. He pointed out that the constitution would help operationalize the association, establish checks and balances, and regulate the distribution of power within the organization.
“As we commence on this important task, let us ensure that our constitution is legally sound and adaptable to the evolving landscape of technology, a solid constitution would pave the way for alumni involvement in teaching, research, and innovation.” He added.
Prof. Kipkemboi also emphasized the role of the alumni association as being a vital platform for engagement and collaboration, acknowledging that alumni are an essential collective asset to any institution. He affirmed the university’s commitment to supporting the growth of Kaimosi Friends University Alumni Association (KAFUAA).

In his remarks, Dr. Otsyula acknowledged the significance of the initiative, noting that this is the first-ever alumni constitution for the university. He emphasized that the constitution would provide a clear framework for maintaining connections between the alumni and their alma mater.
“This validation workshop is significant as it will help us establish a formal and legally binding constitution, a guiding principle that defines our operations, I commend this team for your dedication and commitment to shaping the association’s constitution,” he said.
In his closing remarks, he urged the interim members to focus on alumni engagement, adopt innovative approaches to enhance participation and engagement, establish clear meeting schedules, and develop a comprehensive alumni database for streamlined communication.
