The Principal Secretary for the State Department for Public Service and Human Capital Development, Dr. Jane Kere Imbunya, paid a courtesy call to the Ag. Vice Chancellor Prof. Peter Mwita marking a significant engagement focused on collaboration between the university and the State Department of Public Service and Human Capital Development.
Dr. Imbunya has been a member of the academic staff at the rank of senior lecturer and expert in International Curriculum Development, Design and Instruction as well as in research methods. At the time of her appointment she was serving the university as the Dean School of Education and Social Sciences which is the biggest school in the University with over one thousand students.
Dr. Imbunya is well positioned to identify specific areas where the State Department could partner with the university, drawing upon her knowledge of academic programs, challenges and opportunities the university has, research endeavors, and the crucial role universities play in shaping future public servants and contributing to national development
The discussions involved the potential for expanding student internship opportunities within government institutions. This initiative aims to provide students with invaluable hands-on experience in public service while allowing government bodies to benefit from the fresh perspectives and energy of university students.
As the University continue to work towards its goal of becoming a world-class University of Excellence in Teaching, Research, and Community Service, we take pride in Dr. Imbunya’s appointment as a shining example of the caliber of leadership emerging from Kaimosi Friends University. We stands proud of Dr. Imbunya’s achievements and we wish her our every success in her new role in service to the nation.
