On February 23, 2024, the Acting Vice Chancellor of Kaimosi Friends University, Prof. Peter Mwita, convened with the recently elected officials of the Kaimosi Friends University Student Association (KAFUSA). The swearing-in ceremony, administered by the university legal officer, Ms. Mayavi, was attended by distinguished figures, including the two acting Deputy Vice Chancellors, Prof. Maurice Amadalo (Finance and Development) and Prof. Julius Kipkemboi (Academic and Student Affairs). Also present were the Dean of Students, some senators, and election officials led by the chair, Dr. Amos Wanjara.
Expressing gratitude to the elections board for ensuring credible elections, Prof. Peter Mwita extended a warm welcome to the newly elected KAFUSA officials. He commended them for their peaceful campaign efforts and congratulated the incoming official on their election victory. Under his guidance, Prof. Mwita urged the officials to avoid confrontational politics, emphasizing the importance of embracing dialogue to address pressing issues. Additionally, he advised them to strike a balance between their roles in student politics and their academic pursuits, prioritizing education as the foundation that led them to the university.
Concluding his remarks, Prof. Mwita wished the officials success in discharging their duties and urged them to collaborate with the university's management, working together to establish Kaimosi Friends University as a distinguished center of excellence in teaching, learning, research, and innovation.
