On 15th February 2023, Kaimosi Friends University signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Kenya Union of Post Primary School Teachers (KUPPET) to extend discounted tuition fees to its members and legal dependents. As part of the agreement, KUPPET members will receive a 16% waiver on tuition fees, enabling them to further their education at KAFU.

This MoU comes at a time when the education system is undergoing significant changes, including the introduction of new learning areas. The agreement is expected to provide KUPPET members with the necessary upgrading to align with the new curriculum, which mandates teachers to develop skills on how to handle subject adjustments.

The signing of the MoU was led by the KUPPET National Executive Board, including National Chairman Hon. Omboko Milemba, Secretary General Mr. Akelo Misori, and Executive Secretary Vihiga County Sabala Inyeni, who expressed their optimism in the prospects of the agreement in developing their members. They also praised the University's growth and encouraged KAFU to be a front runner in embracing the transition to competency-based curriculum to enable the member teachers to benefit from development in relevant areas.

In response, the acting DVC Student and Academic Affairs, Prof. Julius Kipkemboi, emphasized KAFU's commitment to quality training and pledged to fast track onboarding of distance learning to offer the tutors flexibility. With this agreement, KAFU aims to provide quality education to KUPPET members and their dependents, thereby enabling them to contribute to the growth of the education sector.
