Kobujoi Campus: A New Dawn for Learning

Kaimosi Friends University (KAFU) has expanded its reach with the establishment of Kobujoi Campus in Aldai Constituency, Nandi County. This initiative reflects the University’s commitment to widening access to higher education, promoting inclusivity, and supporting national development.

The idea of Kobujoi Campus was inspired by a development tour by His Excellency the President on 24th August 2024, during which leaders and residents petitioned for a university presence in the region. In response, KAFU took up the challenge, aligning the campus with the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) to bring education closer to the community and foster socio-economic growth.

Kobujoi Campus is envisioned as a regional hub for Science, Technology, Engineering,
and Mathematics (STEM), with specialised programmes in agricultural innovation, industrial crop development, and teacher education. These will advance research, nurture innovation, and build local capacity in areas critical to development.

The pioneer intake in September 2025 is projected at about 50 students, mainly in Bachelor of Education (Arts) and Bachelor of Education (Science) programmes. This will provide a solid foundation for steady growth as facilities expand and more programmes are introduced.

KAFU is committed to making Kobujoi Campus a centre of excellence in teaching, research, and community service. More than just a learning space, the campus represents hope, opportunity, and transformation for the local community and future generations. This commitment is anchored in the University’s Vision of becoming “a world-class University of excellence in teaching, research, and community service” and its Mission “to provide quality education, training, research, and innovation to meet the needs of a dynamic society.”
