Prof. Fred Anangwe Amimo is a distinguished biological scientist and a leading figure in the field of insect science. With a rich background in research and a deep commitment to advancing education, he has made significant contributions to the scientific community through innovative inquiry and impactful discoveries.

Prof. Amimo's work bridges fundamental science and practical application, positioning him at the forefront of efforts to address key challenges in biology and entomology. His dedication to mentorship and academic excellence continues to inspire the next generation of scientists.

With a career spanning decades, Prof. Amimo has dedicated his expertise to understanding and managing insect-borne diseases, contributing significantly to public health through his scientific endeavors. His specialized knowledge as a Biological Science educator and Insect Scientist has led to practical interventions and products aimed at disease control. He has imparted this crucial knowledge by teaching a diverse range of courses in biological and biomedical sciences, directly impacting the next generation of health professionals and researchers.

Prof. Amimo's leadership journey is a testament to his exceptional administrative acumen. Before joining Kaimosi Friends University, he left an indelible mark as an Associate Professor at JOOUST and the Dean of the School of Health Sciences, where he was instrumental in shaping academic programs and cultivated a thriving research ecosystem.

His prior impactful tenure as Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academics at the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton, showcased his deep grasp of academic governance, his unwavering commitment to student welfare, and his strategic approach to research administration. He has also skillfully chaired departments and academic committees, consistently upholding and elevating academic standards.

His previous tenure as Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academics at the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton, further underscores his deep understanding of academic governance, student welfare, and research administration. He has also chaired the Department of Biological Sciences and various academic committees, showcasing his dedication to maintaining high academic standards.

Prof. Amimo holds a PhD in Entomology from Michigan State University, an MSc in Zoology from Kenyatta University, and a BSc in Biology from Andrews University. His academic excellence has been recognized internationally through prestigious awards, including the Fulbright Scholarship Award (2002) and the Fulbright Distinguished Scholar (2007). In a testament to his significant contributions to the scientific community, he was recently ranked among the top 1,000 Kenyan scientists (2022-2023).

A prolific researcher, Prof. Amimo has led and collaborated on numerous projects, including significant studies on malaria diagnosis, child well-being, and sexual reproductive health. His work has resulted in a substantial body of publications in reputable international journals, reflecting his commitment to advancing scientific knowledge. Beyond academia, he has actively engaged in community outreach, serving as a Trustee for the KEEP Ecosystem Volunteer Organization and contributing to environmental awareness initiatives.
