Full CV
Ms. Thang’wa is the Chair of Department, Languages and Literature, Kaimosi Friends University. Hitherto, she was at Chuka University and prior to that, she worked as a part-time Tutorial Fellow at Moi University (Nairobi Campus). She has about 35 years’ experience of teaching and unrivalled exposure whereby she has mainly been engaged in teaching the British National Curriculum in international schools in Nairobi.
Ms. Thang’wa is a diligent, focused and hardworking individual who has a lot of passion for the French language, one she tries her level best to nurture in her students. She has spearheaded various undertakings at KAFU including starting the French Language Assistant project where KAFU students of French go to France to work on their skills by being totally immersed in a francophone linguistic and cultural environment, whilst teaching English to teenage French speaking children. Ms. Thang’wa has also contributed to catching the eye of the Kenya Association of Teachers of French which wants to make KAFU the Western hub for teacher development in the greater Western, Nyanza and North Rift regions. She also plans to start extra-mural classes in French for interested KAFU students and staff and indeed the larger community surrounding the university.
