Tsinghua University Delegation Pays Courtesy call to KAFU

‎‎A delegation from Tsinghua University Beijing, China, led by Professor Musa Aobo, paid a courtesy call today to the Vice Chancellor of Kaimosi Friends University (KAFU), Prof. Peter Mwita. This visit highlights the increasing emphasis on international collaboration within the higher education sector.

During the meeting, Prof. Mwita emphasized the strategic role of partnerships for academic institutions. He stated that KAFU is commitment to fostering collaborations that can advance its educational and research endeavors.

“Higher learning institutions need to leverage partnerships as they play a crucial role in helping them achieve their vision, goals, and objectives. We recognize the value of working together to enhance our contributions to the global academic landscape.” Said Prof. Mwita.

The visit by the Tsinghua University delegation signals a potential for future joint initiatives, which could include academic exchanges, research collaborations and other programs aimed at mutual growth and development.

‎‎In his remarks, Prof. Musa commended KAFU for its unique commitment to climate change and sustainability. He highlighted that the university presents an ideal environment for conducting research on the assessment of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within the local community. He further underscored the importance of establishing community perceptions of SDG's through research and study.

‎‎Also present at the meeting was the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Administration, Finance, Planning and Development, Prof. Thomas Kipkurgat. He noted that as a young and auspicious institution, KAFU is open and eager to collaborate with other institutions to not only advance its climate change initiatives but also many other key areas of focus aligning with its Vision and Mission.
