KAFU Ultimate Frisbee Team Shine at Kwale Sand Tournament

The Kaimosi Friends University (KAFU) Ultimate Frisbee team, showcased exceptional talent at the Frisbee East Africa Sand Tournament held in Kwale from April 18th to 21st. The beach frisbee championship, sanctioned by the All Africa Flying Disc Federation, saw the KAFU team secure a commendable bronze medal, demonstrating their growing prowess in the sport

The tournament attracted a competitive field of eight teams from across the region, including Impala Ultimate (Uganda), Kabarak University, Nairobi Ultimate, Kakamega Wolves, Cool Waters Kifaru, Black Fish Ultimate, and Bounty Hunters. Despite the strong competition, the Tropical Rangers held their own, ultimately clinching the third-place position.

Adding to the team's stellar performance, individual members also received prestigious accolades. Abigail, a first-year student at KAFU, was recognized as the Rookie of the Year, having impressed spectators and fellow competitors with her outstanding skills and athleticism throughout the championship.

Nelson, an alumnus of Kaimosi Friends University and a key player for the Tropical Rangers, was crowned the Most Valuable Player, a testament to his consistent high-level performance and leadership on the field.

The achievements in Kwale have provided a significant boost for the Kaimosi Ultimate team as they now set their sights on the All Africa Ultimate Club Championship. The continental tournament is scheduled to take place in Kampala, Uganda, from October 9th to 12th, 2025. The team's recent success and the individual awards signal a promising future as they prepare to compete against top clubs from across Africa.
