Kaimosi Friends University has demonstrated a significant improvement in its FY 2023/24 Performance Contracting, as assessed during the Performance Contract (PC) moderation held on February 6, 2025, at the Vice Chancellor’s Boardroom.
The moderation was conducted in alignment with the implementation and attainment of the contract signed between the University Council and the Government of Kenya through the Ministry of Education. The evaluation underscored the institution’s progress in key performance indicators, reinforcing its commitment to academic excellence and institutional growth.
Representing the University at the meeting were the Chairperson of the Council, Dr. Bernadette Mungai and Dr. Rodney Oluoch, the Independent member of the Council; Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Peter N. Mwita; Deputy Vice Chancellor (AFP&D), Prof. Thomas Kipkurgat; and Acting Vice Chancellor (ASA&R), Prof. Julius Kipkemboi.

The assessment was moderated by Mr. Wilson Ng’ang’a, Deputy Director at the Public Service Performance Management and Monitoring Unit (PSPMMU), alongside Ms. Ralia Arero Jilo. Their evaluation of the University’s self-performance review yielded a composite score of 2.95, an improvement from the previous score of 3.11 in FY 2022/2023.

In her remarks, Dr. Mungai acknowledged the University's improved performance but emphasized the potential for even greater achievements. She urged the University community to work together towards a shared vision, reaffirming the Council and Management’s commitment to supporting continued growth.
“Performance Contracts are our collective promise to uphold the highest standards in education, research, and community service,” she stated.
Prof. Mwita highlighted that areas where the university underperformed would be prioritized for improvement, ensuring better attainment of performance contract targets in the future.
With this momentum, Kaimosi Friends University aims to further enhance its performance and reinforce its reputation as a center of academic excellence.
