Kaimosi Friends University’s vibrant athletics, 3x3 basketball, darts, and tug-of-war teams traveled to Kisii University on the weekend of February 1st and 2nd, 2025, to compete in the Kenya Universities Sports Federation Western Conference (KUSFWE) games. The teams faced off against seven other universities, showcasing their talent and determination in a spirited display of sportsmanship.

While the results were mixed, the University celebrated notable achievements, including the ladies’ 3x3 basketball team securing the 2nd Runners-Up Trophy and track and field athletes earning medals in their respective events. These accomplishments reflect the hard work and dedication of our athletes and coaches

This outing followed earlier successes in soccer and cross-country championships held at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) and Nyang’ori High School on January 18th and 19th, 2024. During those events, the University featured six male and four female athletes in the Vihiga County Cross Country Championship, with three athletes qualifying for the Western Region Cross Country Championship.

In the Soccer Cluster Games, both the men’s and women’s teams demonstrated remarkable skill and determination, though they did not proceed to the finals. Their performance, however, highlighted the growing potential of Kaimosi Friends University in competitive sports.

The field and indoor games held in Kisii were an opportunity for the University to build confidence and gain valuable experience as we aim to shine at national levels. KAFU’s continued participation and performance in co-curricular activities underscore the importance of sports as a platform for personal growth, teamwork, and institutional pride.
