Kaimosi Friends University is poised to embark on a transformative journey of international academic collaboration following a pivotal meeting held today between Vihiga County, KAFU management, and a high-level delegation from India's Vignan's University.
This partnership aims to significantly enhance KAFU's academic and technological capabilities through a diverse range of collaborative initiatives, marking a new era for higher education in Vihiga County.

The meeting, held at the Governor's official residence, saw Governor Ottichilo welcome the Indian delegation, led by Nandigam Srikant, Chief Executive Officer of Vignan's University and other training institutions in Vihiga County.
In his remarks His Excellency Governor Ottichilo noted that the partnership with Vignan University proposes the establishment of an Innovation and Incubation Hub in Vihiga County, which will serve as a catalyst for youth empowerment, enterprise development, and applied research.
“This hub could especially benefit from a circular economy approach, aimed at harnessing the waste generated by the institutions in Vihiga to create useful by-products—turning waste into wealth.” Said Dr. Ottichilo.
Following initial discussions, delegates from Vignan's University, accompanied by representatives from the Vihiga County Government, visited Kaimosi Friends University to familiarize themselves with its facilities and academic environment.
Discussions centered on establishing a robust framework for cooperation that will foster mutual growth and innovation. The collaboration is expected to encompass joint research projects, curriculum development, faculty and student exchange programs, and the sharing of best practices in technology, innovation and research.

The Vice Chancellor noted the reciprocal nature of the partnership, stating that the collaboration with Vignan's University would be mutual. He added that KAFU was eager to leverage Vignan's University's extensive experience, particularly in technological advancements and innovative pedagogical approaches, to enrich KAFU's academic programs and research output, believing this exchange would significantly elevate the quality of education offered.

Echoing these sentiments, Prof. Thomas Kipkurgat, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Administration, Finance, Planning, and Development, affirmed the broader advantages of the alliance.
