Kaimosi Friends University today played a key role in the official launch of the Tiriki East Sub-County, with the Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Julius Kipkemboi, representing the Vice Chancellor at the event.
The event, which was held at Shaviringa grounds, marked a significant milestone for the region’s development highlighted the university’s ongoing commitment to community collaboration and empowerment.
“Kaimosi Friends University is not just an institution of higher learning, it is a catalyst for regional growth, we are committed to equipping the next generation with the tools they need to succeed and contribute to the prosperity of Tiriki East," said Prof. Kipkemboi.
Prof. Kipkemboi acknowledged the vital role of Kaimosi Friends University in fostering strong ties with the local community and reiterated the institution's dedication to shaping the future of the region.
“With the launch of Tiriki East, we are witnessing a turning point that will lead to better access to essential services, infrastructure development, and most importantly, an improvement in the quality of education. We are proud to be part of this historic event, which signifies the beginning of greater development in the Tiriki East Sub-County,” he said.
Prof. Kipkemboi took the opportunity to encourage 2024 KCSE candidates, along with their parents and guardians, to consider Kaimosi Friends University as their institution of choice, citing the university’s excellent degree programs as key to shaping future leaders.
As part of its Corporate Social Investment (CSI) initiatives, Kaimosi Friends University has consistently supported community development through education and empowerment. Today’s event marked another step in the university’s efforts to improve local livelihoods and contribute to regional growth.

The launch also saw the official introduction of the new Deputy County Commissioner of Vihiga, Mr. Michael Too, to the community. The occasion was attended by several prominent local leaders, including Vihiga County Senator Hon. Godfrey Osotsi, Vihiga County Women Representative Hon. Beatrice Adagala, and Hamisi Member of Parliament Hon. Gimose Charles Gumini, among other distinguished guests.
