In a landmark meeting today at Kaimosi Friends University, the university management, led by Acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Peter Mwita, came together with local community leaders to discuss the progress of formalizing a collaborative partnership aimed at addressing crucial issues affecting both the university and the surrounding community.

The meeting, which brought together participants from both the university and the local leadership, focused on developing initiatives that will strengthen the connection between the university and the local population. The goal is to bridge the gap between higher education and the practical needs of the community, fostering mutual growth and development.

Prof. Mwita expressed appreciation for the support and cohesion that the community has shown in coexisting with the university, emphasizing the importance of this partnership. "Today, we are excited to meet the members of our community and discuss the progress of establishing linkages and entering into a memorandum of understanding, marking the beginning of a new chapter for both the university and the community," Prof. Mwita stated.

A key part of the collaboration involves the university’s commitment to supporting the community, including the fencing of the Kaimosi Cultural Shrine and the erection of a gate in the area. The Acting Vice Chancellor also assured the community that the university would support the planting of indigenous trees in the region.
