Kaimosi Friends University (KAFU) participated in the Western Kenya Universities Sports Association events held at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) and Nyang’ori High School on 18th and 19th January 2024. Teams from the University competed in soccer and cross-country championships, sending three qualifiers to the Western conference finals.
The University featured six male and four female athletes in the Vihiga County Cross Country Championship held at Nyang'ori High School. This event served as a qualifier for the Western Region Cross Country Championship, where three University athletes excelled and earned spots in the regional competition.
In the Soccer Cluster Games, both the men’s and women’s soccer teams demonstrated remarkable skill and determination but did not proceed to the finals.
Further field games and indoor games to be held in Kisii in early February are expected to boost the University’s confidence in shining at the national levels.
KAFU’s continued impressive performance in co-curricular activities highlights the dedication and talent of its athletes. These achievements underscore the importance of supporting sports as a platform for personal growth, teamwork, and institutional pride.
The University community is encouraged to continue rallying behind our teams as they prepare for the upcoming finals and regional championships. Together, let us celebrate their accomplishments and inspire future successes.
