The Human resources week is celebrated annually from 24th – 28th July every year. This year, the celebrations hosted by the Institute of Human Resources Management of Kenya (IHRM) western region block had several activities planned with the climax being celebrations of the week at Kaimosi Friends University (KAFU). The celebrations were led by Dr. Abraham Simuyu Wekesa, CHRP the regional chapter chairperson among other leaders, with representation from Kakamega, Bungoma, Busia and Vihiga counties HRM practitioners and members, while the guest of honor was Prof. Ogondo, M. J. Nandi who, was represented by Prof. Amadalo, M. M.

Some of the activities that were done included celebrations of Certified Human Resources Practitioners of Kenya (CHRPK), tree planting for environment sustainability, training and capacity building on importance of human resources in organizations and a visit to the Kaimosi Special School for the handicapped and spent some time with the abled differently children.
