Full CV

I am a PhD graduate of the laboratory of Entomology, Wageningen University and Research (WUR), the Netherlands. My training and professional experience (work/research/teaching) cover the broad areas of applied medical entomology and medical parasitology. I have a strong track record in the area of tropical vector borne infectious diseases research. I have published several scientific articles in peer reviewed international journals, largely using Anopheles and Plasmodium as experimental organisms and the entomopathogenic fungus as a possible, natural malaria vector control tool.

I am a senior lecturer at Kaimosi Friends University (KAFU) and have eight years of experience as the head of the Biological and Agricultural Sciences department. I have over ten years’ experience in laboratory and field work in Medical Entomology, Parasitology and Ecology, acquired through collaborative projects at the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) and the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE), Kenya. I am also an editor and reviewer of manuscripts in renowned scientific journals. Additionally, I have years of experience serving as a chairperson in various university sections, including Open and Distance e-Learning (OdEL), Occupational Safety and Health, HIV/AIDS Prevention, and the Medical Advisory Board. I possess excellent experience in curriculum development, including integration of emerging global challenges. I am a highly motivated, dynamic, ambitious, creative, hardworking, trustworthy, reliable, and results-driven individual. I have strong analytical and writing skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments effectively. I work independently and as a team player, thriving in competitive environments. I also have a proven ability to build and sustain mutually beneficial internal and external partnerships, and to attract research funding—having successfully secured three research grants in collaboration with partners.
