 Profile:

Daniel Ochieng Orwenjo is an Associate Professor of Applied Linguistics and Director, Centre for Languages and Communication Studies at the Technical University of Kenya, Nairobi. He is a fellow of the Global Young Academy (GYA) and Africa Science Leadership Programme (ASLP). He is also the national chairman of The Kenya DAAD Scholars Association (KDSA). Prof. Orwenjo holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in applied linguistics from the University of Frankfurt, Germany and a Master’s degree in applied linguistics from Kenyatta University, Kenya. As an applied linguist, his main research interests revolve around the nexus between linguistics and other disciplines by focusing on the application of linguistic knowledge in solving real life problems in other disciplines such as education, law, anthropology, sociology and psychology on one hand; and using knowledge in these disciplines to solve linguistic problems on the other hand. Prof. Orwenjo has published widely in a number of internationally peer reviewed journals in addition to edited books and book chapters.
