The Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) at Kaimosi Friends University (KAFU) plays a crucial role in providing and managing technology services for the entire university community. The DICT's mission is to ensure that technology is a fundamental enabler of the university's academic mission, including world-class research, educational practices, and administrative operations.

The primary goals of the DICT include:

- Providing secure and ubiquitous services: Ensuring that essential ICT services and systems are available and secure across the campus.
- Supporting innovation: Promoting and supporting the use of technology for research and education.
The directorate is responsible for managing the university's IT infrastructure, which includes network services (like Wi-Fi), and various systems such as the student and staff portals, and the e-learning platform. 1. System & Infrastructure Management
Network Services: Ensuring the availability and reliability of the university's network infrastructure, including Wi-Fi access across the campus.
- Systems Management: Managing the university's servers, data centers, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to automate and integrate administrative operations eg student managemen & Academic Module, Finance, HR, and Procurement modules etc.
- Hardware and Software: Procuring, installing, and maintaining essential ICT equipment and software licenses for staff and student use.
2. Portal and E-Learning Support
University Portals: Managing and providing technical support for the Student Portal and Staff Portal, where users can access academic records, course registration, and administrative services.
E-Learning Platform: Supporting the eLearning Portal (Learning Management System) for Open, Distance, and e-Learning (ODeL) programs, facilitating online teaching and learning
3. Support and Communication
- Technical Support: Offering a help desk service to provide ICT-related support to students, faculty, and staff for various technology issues.
- Email Services: Providing and managing official university email accounts for effective communication.
- Website Management: Designing, developing, and maintaining the university's website to serve as the primary information and communication platform.
4. ICT Security
Data Security: Implementing and managing security measures, including Antivirus solutions, to protect the university's data, systems, and network from unauthorized access and threats.
