It was celebration galore as Curriculum Expert and KAFU don Dr Jane Kere Imbunya launched her two books on Competency Based Curriculum (CBC): CBC: Accountability for Kenya's Career Readines, and CBC: Its Implications on Classroom Teaching and Learning.
The two books are about philosophical underpinning of the newly launched CBC curriculum.
The Chief Guest, Prof Ochieng Ong'ondo, Director Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development thanked Dr Imbunya for her contribution towards the transition to CBC and urged scholars to contribute positively towards the new curriculum as it is being rolled out progressively by the Government.
He further urged academicians and the University to be prepared for the CBC students.
The Principal praised the author for launching her two books and encouraged other scholars to "publish or perish".
In attendance were the KAFU presiding Chair of Council Dr Josephine Waudo, Kakamega nominated Senator Naomi Shiyonga, Prof Simiyu, a curriculum expert from MMUST, High School Principals, Headteachers of Primary Schools, dons from the university, workers, students, and members of the community.
