Kaimosi Friends University has stepped up preparations for its future educators, with 700 third-year Bachelor of Education students undergoing a comprehensive School Practice Induction Seminar ahead of their industrial attachment set for May–August 2026.

The seminar, held at the University’s Assembly Hall, brought together students from the School of Education and Social Sciences for an intensive orientation aimed at equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed for a successful teaching practice experience. Key areas covered included the Teachers Service Commission Code of Conduct, professional etiquette and essential school practice documentation.

Speaking during the session, Dr. Nixon Sangili, Dean School of Education called on the students to uphold discipline and professionalism, urging them to serve as worthy ambassadors of the university in their respective teaching stations. He also assured them of a smooth and supportive assessment process throughout the exercise.   “As you step into the classroom, remember that you are not just representing yourselves, but also Kaimosi Friends University. Uphold professionalism, integrity and discipline at all times, and strive to make a positive impact in every school you serve,” said Dr. Nixon Sangili. 

Other facilitators echoed the call for professionalism, with Dr. Dinah Were emphasizing the importance of proper conduct and decorum in the teaching profession. Meanwhile, Prof. Joseph Otsyula took the students through the Teachers Service Commission code of conduct, stressing the need to adhere to established professional standards at all times.

The interactive session also gave students an opportunity to raise questions and seek clarification on various aspects of the teaching practice, with facilitators providing detailed guidance.

The induction marks a key milestone in the students’ academic journey as they prepare to transition from theory to practice, taking on real classroom responsibilities and shaping the future of education.
