KAFU Athletes Shine at KUSF Women Championship

A thrilling weekend of university sports unfolded as the Kenya University Sports Federation (KUSF) Women Championship took place at Taita Taveta University, bringing together top institutions from across the country in a display of talent, competition and sportsmanship.

Kaimosi Friends University (KAFU) fielded a strong contingent of athletes who competed in several disciplines including tennis, badminton, athletics and Ultimate Frisbee, demonstrating the university’s growing strength in women’s sports. At the same time, the university’s Taekwondo and Karate teams represented KAFU at a parallel competition held in Kakamega, further showcasing the institution’s commitment to sporting excellence.

The championship provided a competitive platform for student-athletes to test their skills against some of the best university teams in the country. Throughout the weekend, KAFU athletes displayed determination, discipline and teamwork as they competed across the different sporting categories.

The highlight of the tournament came in Ultimate Frisbee, where KAFU delivered an impressive performance to emerge among the top teams. The team’s success continues to cement KAFU’s position as one of the rising forces in Ultimate Frisbee within university sports in Kenya. Over the past few seasons, the team has consistently produced strong performances in regional and national competitions, reflecting the dedication of the players and coaching staff.

In athletics, Daysie Cherono also made the university proud after securing a silver medal, adding to KAFU’s list of achievements during the championship weekend. Her performance stood out as one of the highlights for the university’s athletics team, demonstrating resilience and determination on the track.
