University Council Concludes Three-Day Familiarization Tour and Induction

The University Council has concluded a three-day comprehensive familiarization tour and induction programme for newly appointed Council members, aimed at deepening their understanding of the University’s operations, growth trajectory and strategic direction.

The induction programme involved extensive engagements across all academic and administrative departments, providing Council members with first-hand insight into service delivery, infrastructure status, academic programmes and institutional governance. The Council also toured Kobujoi Campus as part of efforts to assess expansion initiatives and emerging opportunities for growth.

During the tour, the Council noted the significant progress made by the young University, particularly in infrastructure development, academic expansion and institutional positioning.

Speaking at the conclusion of the tour, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mwita, said the familiarization tour was critical in enabling newly appointed Council members to understand Kaimosi Friends University’s governance oversight, vision and development agenda.

“This familiarization tour has provided the Council with a clear picture of where the University has come from, where we are today and where we are headed. As a young university, we have made commendable progress and the Council’s guidance will be instrumental as we consolidate gains and pursue further expansion,” the Vice-Chancellor said.

“The Council is encouraged by the progress witnessed across departments and campuses. The expansion to Kobujoi Campus is a clear demonstration of growth and vision and we are confident that with continued focus and prudent governance, the University will achieve even greater milestones,” Prof. Khainga said.
