Kaimosi Friends University Triumphs as Hosts for the Kenya Universities Sports Federation (Western Conference League) 2023/24 Academic Year

On the weekend of November 11th and 12th, November, 2023 Kaimosi Friends University (KAFU) played host to the highly anticipated Kenya Universities Sports Federation (Western Conference League) for the 2023/24 Academic Year. The event brought together spirited teams from various universities, including Kisii, Maseno, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST), Kabianga, and Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST).

A mixture of sports added fervor to the competition, with hockey, roll ball, softball, and basketball taking center stage. KAFU showcased its athletic prowess by participating in all these games, leaving an indelible mark on the tournament.

The results speak volumes about KAFU's commitment to excellence, as the university clinched the 1st runners-up position in hockey, showcasing not only skill but also determination on the field. In basketball, KAFU secured a respectable 5th position, further contributing to the university's overall success in the tournament.

The sportsmanship and camaraderie displayed throughout the event highlighted not only the competitive spirit but also the unity and friendship fostered among participating universities. Kaimosi Friends University takes pride in its role as a gracious host and participant, contributing to the vibrant tapestry of collegiate sports in the region.

The event was presided over by Mr, Joseph Sandagi, KAFU’s sports manager who on behalf of the acting Vice Chancellor, Prof Jack Nandi said that successful hosting and participation affirm KAFU's dedication to promoting not just academic excellence but also a holistic development approach through sports. The university looks forward to continued participation and success in future sporting events, fostering a culture of athleticism and teamwork among its students.
