The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mwita, on 4^th April 2026, led the University fraternity in paying their final respects to student Ibrahim Mwikwabe Kabachi, who was laid to rest at his home in Makerero Ward, Kuria West Constituency, Migori County.

The solemn burial ceremony brought together family members, friends, University staff and students, all united in grief and remembrance of a life gone too soon. The occasion was marked by deep reflection, prayers and messages of comfort to the bereaved family.
