Prof. Kelvin Kabeti Omieno is a distinguished scholar and visionary administrator currently serving as the Founding Dean of the School of Computing and Information Technology at Kaimosi Friends University (KAFU). With over 15 years of experience in higher education, he has been a driving force in institutional growth, having previously served as the Founding Dean (Acting) of the School of Computing and Informatics at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST). His academic credentials include a PhD in Business Information Systems from JOOUST, an MSc in Information Technology, and a First Class Honors degree in Computer Science from MMUST. His leadership extends beyond the university into national policy and governance, where he serves as a Resource Person for the Kenya National Qualification Authority (KNQA), a Subject Matter Expert for KASNEB, and a Board Member for several TVET and secondary institutions.

As an accomplished researcher and mentor, Prof. Omieno has significantly influenced the field of ICT for Development (ICT4D) and Green ICT through more than 30 peer-reviewed publications and various successful research grants. His expertise is backed by a robust career progression from Graduate Assistant to Professor, supplemented by ongoing studies in an MBA in Corporate Management at KCA University. A dedicated member of global professional bodies such as the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Internet Society, he remains at the forefront of technological innovation and cybersecurity. Through his roles in university senates and academic boards, he continues to shape the future of computing education in Kenya by formulating cutting-edge programs and mentoring the next generation of Masters and PhD scholars.
