Mumias East Candidates Benefit from Career Mentorship and Academic Guidance Through KAFU

Kaimosi Friends University participated in the Mumias East Candidates’ Fourth Edition Career Day, a two-day (27th and 28th March 2026) education empowerment programme organized by Mumias East Constituency under the leadership of Member of Parliament Hon. Peter Kalerwa Salasya.

The initiative brought together learners, education stakeholders and institutions of higher learning in a collective effort to encourage academic progression and strengthen transition to tertiary education.

The programme served as a vibrant platform for engagement, knowledge exchange and mentorship. Kaimosi Friends University leveraged this opportunity to connect directly with candidates, offering timely and practical guidance on academic pathways and career development.

Through interactive and student-centered sessions, the Corporate Affairs team provided detailed insights into course selection, admission requirements and the wide range of programmes available across various disciplines. Learners were also exposed to emerging career trends and the evolving demands of the job market, enabling them to make informed and future-oriented decisions.

A highlight of the engagement was the second day outreach, where the team conducted impactful career mentorship talks at Lubinu Boys High School, Lubinu Girls High School and Shitoto Girls High School in Mumias East Constituency, Kakamega County.

These sessions were thoughtfully designed to empower students by helping them align their academic strengths, personal interests and long-term aspirations with viable career paths. The interactive nature of the discussions allowed students to ask questions, seek clarification and gain confidence in planning their academic journeys.

The outreach further reaffirmed Kaimosi Friends University’s strong commitment to community engagement, youth empowerment and educational transformation. By extending mentorship and guidance beyond the University setting, the institution continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of young learners and supporting informed decision-making at critical stages of their academic lives.
