Mr. Yussuf Kala is an independent member of Council. He is a dynamic business and public-sector leader with over a decade of executive experience spanning insurance, manufacturing, public administration, legal practice, and commercial management.

He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Transnep Insurance Brokers Ltd, where he has driven market growth, digital transformation, strong financial governance, and client-centered solutions aligned with global best practices.

Previously, he served nearly six years as County Chief Officer in the Mandera County Government, playing a key role in public policy implementation, governance reforms, and resource management—experience that continues to inform his transparent and values-driven leadership style.

Yussuf is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and holds a Master’s degree in Project Planning and Management and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Nairobi, with a Postgraduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration at USIU–Africa. Passionate about mentorship and social impact, he champions people empowerment, education, and community welfare, particularly for the elderly and vulnerable.
