KAFU Records Major Leap After Review by the Public Service Performance Management Unit
Kaimosi Friends University has registered significant progress in its 2024/2025 Performance Contract (PC) Evaluation, marking a major step forward in the institution’s continuous pursuit of excellence in governance, service delivery, and strategic performance.
The evaluation exercise, conducted on 21st November 2025, revealed a remarkable improvement in key performance indicators, with the University attaining a score of 2.571 rising from the previous score of 2.7 recorded in the 2023/2024 cycle.
During the evaluation, assessors reviewed signed and vetted PCs, budget approvals, evidence of implementation, and compliance with national guidelines. Departments were assessed on critical performance areas including productivity, financial management, national cohesion, asset management, and public complaints resolution, among others.
The evaluators noted that the majority of targets had been fully achieved, with several areas surpassing 100% performance. The Finance Department, in particular, posted an outstanding score with no pending bills and more than 82% absorption of allocated funds.
The panel commended the University for strengthening documentation and ensuring that evidence presented was verifiable and aligned with the PC requirements. Improvement was also observed in asset management practices, compliance reporting, and departmental coordination.
The evaluators encouraged the University to maintain the momentum and further enhance internal processes, including continuous training for champions and improved integration of strategic plan targets into departmental PCs.
Speaking during the session, the Vice Chancellor appreciated the dedication of the entire evaluation team, including the Deputy Vice Chancellors, Directors, process owners, and the entire staff. He emphasized that the University is firmly on a growth trajectory and reiterated the commitment of management to foster a culture of excellence.
“KAFU is steadily transforming into a University of Excellence. This performance reflects the hard work and collaboration of our staff,” he noted.
The improved score positions Kaimosi Friends University as a rising institution committed to accountability, quality service delivery, and impactful performance. The University will now move to implement recommendations from the evaluation as it prepares for the next cycle.
