KAFU Models Join National Tree Planting Initiative

Models from Kaimosi Friends University joined other young leaders in a tree planting exercise aimed at promoting environmental conservation and sustainability during an event held at Ruiru Boys High School.

The initiative, organised by the Kenya Modeling Association, brought together representatives from various modelling teams and title holders from across the country. The activity formed part of ongoing efforts by youth organisations and environmental advocates to promote tree planting as a key strategy in combating climate change and protecting the environment.

Participants included members of the Mr & Miss Ruiru Team, Miss Kaimosi University Team, Miss Mumias East, Best Beauty of Africa International, Miss Tourism Kenya, Miss Tourism Nyeri Team, Mr Glamour Kenya Team, Mr Kasarani, Drip Modeling Academy, Miss Cosmo Kenya and Face of HTC Team, among others.

The tree planting exercise provided a platform for young leaders in the modelling industry to engage in meaningful community service while championing environmental responsibility.

Speaking during the event, organisers from the Kenya Modeling Association noted that involving young people in environmental activities helps cultivate a culture of sustainability and encourages the next generation to take an active role in protecting natural resources.

Participants planted dozens of tree seedlings within the school compound, contributing to ongoing efforts to increase forest cover and create greener learning environments in schools.

Members of the Kaimosi Friends University modelling team took part enthusiastically in the activity, demonstrating their commitment not only to fashion and creativity but also to social responsibility and community engagement.

The initiative also fostered unity and collaboration among participants from different modelling platforms, highlighting the growing role of youth-driven movements in advancing environmental conservation efforts across the country.

For many of the models, the event served as an opportunity to use their influence and platforms to raise awareness about the importance of environmental stewardship.

Beyond the runway and pageantry, the activity reflected the broader role of modelling platforms in championing social causes and inspiring positive change within communities.

A section of models from different modelling platforms take part in the national tree planting exercise aimed at promoting environmental conservation, followed by a presentation on environmental sustainability at Ruiru Boys High School.

The tree planting exercise aligns with Kenya’s national efforts to increase tree cover and encourage environmental sustainability, with young leaders and institutions increasingly taking part in conservation activities across the country. By participating in the initiative, the Kaimosi Friends University models demonstrated that youth leadership extends beyond talent and creativity to include responsibility toward the environment and society at large
