Dr. Thaddaeus W. Egondi born on 20th April 1978 is an independent member of Council. He is a highly accomplished statistician, educator, and research leader with over 15 years of experience in biostatistics, epidemiology, survey research, and clinical trials.
He holds a PhD in Epidemiology and Global Health and has provided advanced statistical leadership to international organizations including UN-Habitat, UNICEF, UNODC, FAO, FHI 360, and APHRC. Currently serving as Senior Biostatistics Manager at the Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi), Dr. Egondi leads analytical teams, oversees data quality and regulatory compliance, and supports evidence-based decision-making in global health research.
He is also a seasoned university lecturer, having taught and supervised postgraduate students at Strathmore University and the University of Nairobi for over a decade. Widely respected for translating complex data into actionable insights, Dr. Egondi exemplifies academic excellence, mentorship, and leadership in research, education, and policy-driven development.
