Hillan Ronoh is an accomplished Information Technology academic and administrator with extensive experience in teaching, research, and university leadership. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Information Technology from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (2025), a Master of Science in Information Technology (2018), and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (2013). He served as a Tutorial Fellow at Kaimosi Friends University from January 2020 until 2025, when he was promoted to Assistant Lecturer. He has also taught as a part-time lecturer at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology and Mount Kenya University (Kakamega Campus).

Dr. Ronoh currently serves as the Director of Open, Distance and Electronic Learning (ODeL), a position he has held since 1st March 2026. Prior to this, he served as Director, ICT from November 2024 to 27th February 2026, and as Head of the Department of Computer Science from August 2021 to 27th February 2026. He has also previously held the role of Acting Dean and served as a member of key university committees.

He has a strong research profile, with publications in refereed journals and contributions to an innovation/patent, alongside active participation in academic conferences and institutional research initiatives. His expertise spans curriculum delivery, student supervision, quality assurance, and ICT systems management, complemented by industry experience gained at Eastern Produce of Kenya. He remains committed to advancing teaching excellence, research, innovation, and service in higher education.
