Dr. Annette Obukosia Busula is a distinguished researcher and academic leader with a Ph.D. in Medical Entomology and Parasitology (Wageningen University and Research) and over 15 years of academic and research experience. Her expertise spans vector biology, parasitology, disease ecology, and climate change impacts on health systems. Her core thematic strengths include climate-sensitive disease surveillance, ecological modelling, antimicrobial plant extracts, phytochemical profiling, gender analysis, and community-based health interventions. Dr. Busula has an extensive record of externally funded projects, including grants on insecticide resistance in malaria vectors and microbiota profiling for sustainable vermicomposting. Publications in malaria journal. PNAS, Scientific Reports, and other peer-reviewed journals demonstrate her contributions to global understanding of mosquito–parasite interactions, Plasmodium transmission, and climate driven health vulnerabilities. Dr. Annette has proven leadership in supervising postgraduate students to completion, managing multidisciplinary teams and building institutional capacity through workshops on malaria, HIV/AIDS, occupational health, and peer review. Her strong collaborations with KEMRI, ICIPE, and international universities reinforce expertise in transdisciplinary research and policy engagement. Dr. Busula is committed to advancing gender responsive, interdisciplinary, and community-engaged research that strengthens climate-resilient health systems, informs evidence-based policy, and delivers equitable health outcomes.
