Programme Description

This programme integrates information systems with knowledge management practices to help organizations effectively capture, store, and utilize knowledge for decision-making and innovation.

The Bachelor of Science (Information Systems and Knowledge Management) programme has a distinctive learning model and environment for preparing students to integrate both information technology (IT) and business. Students get intensive training in design-based thinking and problem-solving, creating and leveraging IT business solutions to drive business innovation and transformation and in managing complex projects. Graduates with training in both IT and business have a special advantage because they have a wider range of career opportunities. They have been employed in full-time jobs and internships across every segment of industry, and in a wide variety of job roles spanning IT, business and the business-IT interface.

Programme Requirements

University Admission Requirements

Minimum university entrance requirements;

A candidate must satisfy any of the following minimum requirements:

  • Be a holder of KCSE (or equivalent examination) certificate with a minimum aggregate of C+ and a minimum of C+ in both Mathematics and any language

Other admission requirements

  • Be a holder of KACE certificate with a minimum of two principal passes and one subsidiary pass at A-level, and a minimum of a principal pass in
    • Mathematics  OR
    • Science course (Chemistry or Biology or Physics) with credit pass in mathematics at O-level OR
  • Accredited Diploma in Information Systems or related field with a credit pass.
