I am an assistant lecturer in the department on social sciences with over eight years’ experience teaching criminology at the undergraduate level. My academic and research interests lie in security governance, with a particular focus on community-based security mechanisms in informal urban settings in Nairobi.

My work explores how neighborhood watch initiatives contribute to crime prevention and security management, and how they interact with formal policing structures. I am particularly interested in the policy implications of informal security systems and their roles in enhancing safety, accountability, and community resilience.

I teach courses in criminology and security studies, emphasizing critical thinking and the practical application of security concepts in contemporary urban contexts.
