Community Rallies Behind Kobujoi Campus with Donation of Cows

Kaimosi Friends University’s Kobujoi Campus today received a major boost after members of the local community donated two cows as a show of goodwill, partnership and support for the newly established campus in Nandi County.

The donation, made on Wednesday, 8th April 2026, marked yet another milestone in the growth of the campus, reflecting the confidence and trust that the surrounding community has continued to place in the University and its expansion efforts.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Peter N. Mwita is warmly received by students upon his arrival at Kobujoi Campus for the community donation event.

Speaking during the event, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mwita, expressed deep appreciation to the community for the generous gesture, describing it as a clear demonstration of ownership, unity and commitment to the success of Kobujoi Campus.

“We sincerely appreciate the residents of Kobujoi for embracing this campus and standing with the University during its formative stages. Such gestures of solidarity are critical in laying a strong foundation for the future of Kobujoi Campus,” he added.

He said the support from the community was encouraging and he reaffirmed the University’s resolve to grow Kobujoi Campus into a Centre of academic excellence, innovation and transformation for the region.

The Vice Chancellor further applauded the residents for embracing the campus and standing with the University during its formative stages, adding that such gestures of solidarity are critical in laying a strong foundation for the institution’s future.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Peter Mwita receives the donated cows on behalf of the University, from members of the Kobujoi community in a heartwarming gesture of support for student welfare and the growth of Kobujoi Campus.

Prof. Mwita also challenged students at Kobujoi Campus to remain focused on their studies and make the most of the opportunities available to them, noting that the growth of the campus should inspire them to work even harder toward achieving their academic goals. He encouraged them to uphold discipline, determination and excellence, saying their success would be the true measure of the campus’ impact in the region.

Members of community who attended the event underscored the importance of working closely with the University, noting that the success of the campus is not only benefitting students, but is opening up new opportunities for social and economic growth within the community.

Students attentively follow proceedings during the donation ceremony at Kobujoi Campus, reflecting their appreciation and support for the growing partnership between the University and the local community.

“When we saw that students were facing challenges in getting milk, we felt we could not just watch from a distance. As members of this community, we saw it fit to donate these cows so that the students can benefit and feel that they have people who care about them,” said Mr. Too.

He added that Kobujoi Campus belonged to the community and that its growth was a shared responsibility. He said they were proud to support the University because they believed in its future and in the young people pursuing their studies there.

A symbolic moment as the donated cows are received at Kobujoi Campus, marking a powerful gesture of community support toward student welfare and the University’s continued growth.
