Joseph Musungu Ndovoyo is a Lecturer at Kaimosi Friends University. He is a long serving Advanced Practice Nurse for over 30 years of experience with a special interest in Community Health Nursing. Currently pursuing PhD in Nursing, he is a holder of a Master’s degree in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Nursing both from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology.

Before joining the world of academia, Mr. Ndovoyo held several managerial positions at the county health department including; County emergency referral services and county Non-pharmaceuticals coordinator, where he participated in drafting of policies to guide referral services and management of non-pharmaceuticals at the county. In the world of academia, he has published several peer reviewed journals, presented research papers in scientific conferences, having advanced from a certificate holder to the current status – PhDs.

His credentials, background, key principles, and accomplishments are clear and consistent with his career objective: Become a well-known researcher and lecturer in the field of community health nursing and primary care, investigate its real-world applications in a variety of fields through research; and use knowledge, skills, experiences, and expertise gained as well as talent capabilities to serve and improve an organization’s vision, mission, and objectives while creating a hospitable environment for society.

His hobbies are not limited to reading, listening to Christian melodies and socializing. His ability to foster gender-positive team dynamics for both staff and target groups makes him an excellent team member. He is always receptive to new information and operates under the tenet that “With God’s hand, nothing is impossible if the will is there.”

My research interests lie in Public and Community Health Nursing field – Primary Care.
